From Factory Floor to Fashion Future: My 20-Year Journey in Textiles

Not every path into sustainability starts in a boardroom. Mine began in a small sewing workshop — where every fabric scrap was turned into something useful. That early lesson shaped how I see textiles, waste, and the future of fashion.
Early Beginnings
My journey in textiles started in my father’s workshop. I grew up surrounded by fabrics, patterns, and the idea that nothing should go to waste. Every leftover piece had value. That mindset stayed with me — and it became the foundation for how I understand sustainability today.
Inside Global Supply Chains
As I moved into the international textile business, I worked with factories, suppliers, and retailers across Europe and Asia.
Here, I saw the real challenges behind the word “sustainability”: endless certifications, strict audits, traceability demands, and CO₂ measurements.
But I also saw how often these efforts were reduced to marketing slogans, losing their true impact.
The Challenges I Witnessed
Over the years, I experienced the same problems again and again:
- Brands lost in a jungle of certifications
- Suppliers failing audits because of missing documents
- Managers unsure how to measure CO₂ or prove their claims
These weren’t just abstract issues. I lived them, side by side with the teams trying to find solutions.
Why I Founded Green Label Talks
After two decades in textiles and supply chains, I realized something was missing: clarity.
I wanted to create a space where sustainability is not about buzzwords but about credibility and action.
That’s why I founded Green Label Talks — to give brands, managers, and consultants the tools to cut through greenwashing and build real impact.
